Get yourself down to Photofusion in Brixton to see ‘Onto the Streets’ a show of contemporary street photography, curated by Tate Modern’s Sophie Howarth and our new friend, photographer, Stephen McLaren, the show will tour with the British Council and includes the work of in-public photographers Adrian Fisk, Nick Turpin, Matt Stuart, David Gibson and Nils Jorgensen. Thanks to all those who braved the heat to join us for the opening. This is the best opportunity to see contemporary street photography in London for a long time.
In-Public was set up in 2000 to provide a home for Street Photographers.
Our aim is to promote Street Photography and to continue to explore its possibilities, we are a non commercial collective. All the photographers featured here have been invited to show their work because they have the ability to see the unusual in the everyday and to capture the moment. The pictures remind us that, if we let it, over-familiarity can make us blind to what’s really going on in the world around us.Read more
