in-sight
Thursday 27 January 2011
The in-public photographers will be showing over 60 prints at The Derby Museum and Art Gallery as part of the FORMAT 11 International Photo Festival. Nick Turpin has made a short documentary film called ‘in-sight’ which follows some of the groups photographers on the streets of London, New York, Rotterdam and Melbourne.
The film will premier at FORMAT on the 3rd March and will be showing through to the 3rd April 2011. In the meantime, here is a short trailer.
Many in-public photographers will be attending the opening week of the festival and look forward to meeting you.
On the 4th March Nick Turpin will be speaking about the ‘Inspiration of Street Photography’ at the Format Photography Conference, along with Bruce Gilden, Amy Stein, John Maloof, Michael Wolf, Yumi Goto, Sophie Howarth and others.
On the 5th March Nick will be doing Portfolio reviews and would love to see and discuss your own Street Photography.

Manifesto
In-Public was set up in 2000 to provide a home for Street Photographers.
Our aim is to promote Street Photography and to continue to explore its possibilities, we are a non commercial collective. All the photographers featured here have been invited to show their work because they have the ability to see the unusual in the everyday and to capture the moment. The pictures remind us that, if we let it, over-familiarity can make us blind to what’s really going on in the world around us.
