“London Street Photography 1850-2010,” featuring work by several members of iN-PUBLiC, is currently on view at the Museum of the City of New York. This landmark exhibition was the most visited exhibition in the history of the Museum of London. In New York, it is paired with a selection from MCNY’s own extensive collection of New York Street Photography. For more information, hours and directions, please visit the Museum of the City of New York’s exhibitions page.
On 10 September 2012 at 6:30 pm, curator Sean Corcoran will moderate a panel discussion on contemporary street photography with several photographers including iN-PUBLiC’s Richard Bram, Magnum member Bruce Gilden, Sylvia Plachy and Richard Sandler. Again, visit the Museum’s website for details.
In-Public was set up in 2000 to provide a home for Street Photographers.
Our aim is to promote Street Photography and to continue to explore its possibilities, we are a non commercial collective. All the photographers featured here have been invited to show their work because they have the ability to see the unusual in the everyday and to capture the moment. The pictures remind us that, if we let it, over-familiarity can make us blind to what’s really going on in the world around us.Read more
