Everyone at In-public is excited to welcome Saul Leiter to our slowly growing ‘Masters’ section. Quite simply the colour street photographs of Saul Leiter are both humbling and inspiring to all of us. Saul was an early practitioner of colour photography, he has a unique vision and his photographs have soul.
We would like to thank Margit Erb for her enthusiasm in making this portfolio possible. Margit works at the Howard Greenberg Gallery in New York and is also a trusted assistant to Saul.
Welcome Saul, it’s a pleasure to show your work here.
In-Public was set up in 2000 to provide a home for Street Photographers.
Our aim is to promote Street Photography and to continue to explore its possibilities, we are a non commercial collective. All the photographers featured here have been invited to show their work because they have the ability to see the unusual in the everyday and to capture the moment. The pictures remind us that, if we let it, over-familiarity can make us blind to what’s really going on in the world around us.Read more
