iN-PUBLiC talks with Aaron Berger
Tuesday 01 July 2014
We are pleased to welcome as our newest member photographer Todd Gross from Brooklyn, New York. Working under the alias Quarlo, the self-taught Queens native has spent almost two decades documenting the street life of his home town with a unique, slightly alien perspective. “My aim,” says Gross, “is to keep myself from descending into a state of perpetual madness by photographing life in New York as I see it.”
All of us at In-Public have enjoyed watching Todd’s vision develop over the years and we’re now very happy to welcome him into the fold. Welcome, Quarlo!

Nick Turpin is on a photographic odyssey, using a simple camera phone. Every day, a public vote determines where Nick goes next. Follow his adventures, and direct his next move, here.
In-Public was set up in 2000 to provide a home for Street Photographers.
Our aim is to promote Street Photography and to continue to explore its possibilities, we are a non commercial collective. All the photographers featured here have been invited to show their work because they have the ability to see the unusual in the everyday and to capture the moment. The pictures remind us that, if we let it, over-familiarity can make us blind to what’s really going on in the world around us.Read more
